When your child wakes up with a fever, a barking cough, or goopy eyes, you want them seen without waiting days for an appointment. Advocare Haddon Pediatric Group offers walk-in sick visits every weekday morning from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. at both of our South Jersey offices, in Mullica Hill and Haddon Heights. No appointment is needed. Just come in, check in at the front desk, and one of our pediatricians or pediatric nurse practitioners will see your child shortly.

A walk-in visit with us is not a trip to a generic urgent care clinic. Your child is seen by a pediatrician, and the visit becomes part of the medical record our team already keeps for your child. When the provider examines that ear or listens to that cough, they can see your child's history and allergies. They can also make sure a follow-up happens if one is needed.

Walk-in visits are designed for simple, acute illnesses, meaning sicknesses that came on recently and are fairly straightforward to evaluate. Common examples include:

• Ear infections and ear pain, often after a recent cold
• Colds, congestion, and coughs that aren't improving
• Pink eye, including redness, discharge, or crusting
• Sore throats, when you want to check for strep

If your child has symptoms that have lasted for weeks, a chronic condition, or several concerns to discuss, please call to schedule a sick visit instead. That way, our providers can give your child the time the visit deserves.

On especially busy mornings, walk-in slots can fill up. If that happens, our staff will schedule your child for an appointment later the same day, so they'll still be seen.

The walk-in window is short, but it's far from the only way to get your child seen. Between our two offices, we have appointments available on weekday mornings and afternoons, on weeknight evenings, and on weekend mornings. The schedules differ by location.

When your child gets sick after the walk-in window closes, a scheduled sick visit gives them the same careful evaluation. We hold appointment times open every day for sick children. Our weeknight evening appointments and Haddon Heights weekend mornings mean you rarely have to wait long to be seen.

Most walk-in visits involve the everyday illnesses of childhood: ear infections, strep throat, stomach bugs, rashes, and seasonal viruses. Our providers diagnose and treat these conditions every day. They'll also tell you what recovery should look like and which warning signs mean you should call back.

While you're in for a walk-in, our staff can check whether your child is due for a well visit or immunizations. Families with busy schedules can book checkups during weeknight evening hours at Haddon Heights, or on Monday and Tuesday evenings in Mullica Hill.

At an urgent care clinic, you're usually meeting a stranger. At either of our offices, you'll see pediatric providers who work with children every day, often someone who has seen your child before. Our pediatricians and nurse practitioners treat every walk-in as part of your child's ongoing care. They coordinate with your child's regular provider and follow up so nothing slips through the cracks.
